The cylindrical body of the teapot is scalloped around the outside – in imitation of a bundle of bamboo stems. Its spout and handle are moulded as single bamboo canes in black enamel with green highlights. The flat scalloped cover is decorated with bamboo shoots and prunus flowers, and surmounted by a bamboo twig handle. The main body of the teapot is decorated, on each bamboo section, with flowering plants and bamboo designs – in alternating colours of dark and light green, aubergine and yellow enamels on the biscuit.
